Betsy, Martha Jane is one of the unnamed daughters of Thomas and Letitia English. I think the only other family group that names her as a daughter is the family of Campbell English. I have not found her on any of the other family groups that I have seen. I have a copy of the transcript of a letter from my grandfather, Thomas Henry LeFors, the son of Martha Jane English and John S. LeFors. The letter was written in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, TX in Dec. 1870. The letter states that he is visiting with Grandmother Inglish [Mahala English, who moved to Texas with some of her children after Thomas' death in Claiborne Parish, LA.] It also tells that he has seen Uncle Cam, who lives about 20 miles away [Campbell, son of Thomas and Letitia English settled in Mt. Vernon, Franklin County, TX.] All of my grandfather's children name Thomas and Letitia as their grandparents, there is also a reference to Mahala and the half brothers and sister. I feel very secure that Martha Jane was in fact a daughter of Thomas and Letitia. Karen, a question about Ann Inglish Graham. We find an Ann Inglish in Titus or Red River County, selling land to Campbell English. In another place she is listed as Ann English Young. Is this your Ann Graham? Did she go on to TX after Robert died? It is strange that she would resume using English as her name. Pat
