His age at the time being 62 years, 1 month and 9 days. Cord lived in Cedar county until 19 years ago when he located in California. Those left to mourn his passing are two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Clara Bough and Mrs. Minnie Hickman, both of Porterville, Calif., and Ora Jones of Stockton, Mo. He was left without a mother at 7 years of age. His father lived to see him grow to manhood. Two brothers preceded him in death at the age of 16 years and 6 years; one sister passed away in infancy. Cord had been ill about a year, he bore his illness with patience and courage and told his loved ones he was ready and glad to go. Funeral services were conducted at the Stockton Baptist Church, by Elder W.P. Barnes, Friday at 1 o'clock, November 23. Interment in the Younger cemetery under direction of Church & Neale. Pallbearers were Frank Hickman, Jack Jones, Charlie Church, Jack Church, Riley Fleeman and Clay Fleeman. Flower girls: Beulah Douglas, Wilbia Sell, Ruby Harvey and Imogene Bryant. Card of Thanks We desire to thank each one for their kindness during the illness and death of our brother, also for the beautiful floral offering and especially thank the choir for the spirit in which they sang "Near The Cross," "Safe In the Arms of Jesus" and "The Old Rugged Cross."
