    3. Actually, when the tornado went thru there a couple of years ago it took the library. However, I'm told the library is trying to rebuild in a temporary site. There is a historical society building behind the courthouse but don't know that they have regular hours. I think the nearest Genealogy Society is in Dade County which neighbors to the South and they carry alot of stuff in their library. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe Jones" <joejones@ckt.net> To: <MOCEDAR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 06, 2006 7:50 PM Subject: Re: [MOCEDAR] Cedar County records > Thanks so much for your reply. 3. Actually, the library is in temporary quarters, and have been since August 2003. We will build on our land at the corner of J and 32 Hwys. It will be a permanent location. The library is in a rented modular unit on the land. The library's card catalog is on the web at www.cedarcountylibrary.org Just click on the online catalog. You will have to click on the title to see the location. The old jail where the society's collection is held had several stones fall out when the roof fell. It is not accessible until it is fixed. Several members have some of the collection in their homes. Tri-County Genealogical Society is a group of people from Cedar, St. Clair, and Vernon Counties, so that would be a little closer than Dade County if you are looking for Cedar County stuff. Dade County has wonderful information for Dade County--you might find some Cedar, but not like you would in Cedar County, the courthouse, both branches of the Cedar County Library, and the Tri-County Genealogical Society.
