Hello, I can not remember if Cedar County had this or not. But some of the counties that we have gone to had marriage books that overlap in time periods. In that case sometimes, records do get missed on indexes. Unless you are looking yourself you don't know if they have checked both books. In regards to the Court House, my mother and I have made 2 trips to Cedar County. They ladies there are very nice in that they just let you do your own looking. They were not helpful in finding things. We seemed to have only access to very old court books. Where is the index to the files they have? The first time I was there I saw a name in a book, later I realized it was my ancestor. The second time we went was specifically to find that record. I could not even find a reference to that record. Could not find the book that I had seen her name in. Janet Arnold
