Hi Janet, Thank you so very much for your response..I so much appreciate the information. Well, the records there at the court house gives me a bit of hope...maybe my gggrandparents were missed somehow. I know I've talked to a few people and they say my James Monroe Cash aka "Monroe" b. 1825 TN and Sarah Emiline Ford b. 1825-6 TN are not listed as being in the marriage books. Monroe last appears on the tax lists of Roane Co. TN 1848 and then shows up with other Meigs Co. TN families in Lynn Twnsp., Cedar Co. MO for the 1850 Census. The census was taken in September and their child John E. Cash is shown as being 4 months old. Biographical records from Pushmataha Co. OK show John E. Cash being born near Concord, Cedar Co. MO 1850...and all the census say MO. I wish I was close enough to visit and look for a marriage record.....I recently moved to the North East...to Central PA so I probably won't be getting out there anytime soon. I think visiting the court house would be the only way to really find what I am looking for....if they are even on the books. Maybe someday I'll catch a break on this one. Could also be they were married by a circuit preacher along the way from TN to MO...so many possibilities. Well, just wanted to thank you so much again for your kindness.
