    3. Sorry you've not had good luck with the Cedar Co Courthouse Margie; they've always been MORE than willing to help and have gone WAY above and beyond in helping me each time I've been there (the last time was this past Nov - 2000).........they've been in the process of moving, however, (for a couple of years now)and things are still in total disarray -- including desks and chairs piled in front of file cabinets and doors, and on top of each other. When I was there, there were also four other ladies that were doing research, and we had to move two desks away from a file cabine in order to even open the drawers.........and crawled over a couple of desks in another room in order to get back to the area we needed to be............they're doing the best they can, but it's a slow and tedious job, plus they just don't have much help. There's a lady there (sorry, I can't remember her name) that's with the Genealogy Soc of Cedar Co that might be able to give you some guidance.....but I can't even tell you how to get in contact with her...........perhaps if you were to ask the Court house to forward a letter to her? (If I can find where I wrote her name and number, will post to the list, but please don't hold your breath, as I've not even got a clue as to where it might be, and won't even have time to search for it for at least a couple of months --- if you'll remind me in intervels of a month or so, to refresh my mind, I won't forget to check it for you when I can?) The Geni Soc is in a small building just to the rear of the Court House, and is well stocked with books and literature, plus some other interesting items...... The Courthouse is a beautiful older building of at least 3 floors, plus the basement - sorry, but I don't remember much of the lay-out or where things are, but they do have a marvelous collection of books on rollers/coasters...............I'd highly recommend you actually going there if you can manage it........ They have a small staff, and there are BUNCHES of books and things, so I'd really imagine they don't have the time to do much, if any, research for anyone.........that might be what the problem is....I don't know that for a fact, but it seems likely it is.......once you see just how much stuff there really is there, and how hard it is to get to it right now, I'm sure you'd understand. Good luck in your searches...... Norma in CA [email protected] wrote: > > Cindy, I have copies of other letters of administration or wills probated > after the husband's death.
