I know some people walked out with them under their coats. Doesn't the thought of that make you ill?? Those books will probably never be seen again. It is sad. This was 35 years ago in IL that I know that it happened but I don't know the persons name anymore. I used to and was horrified when she told me. But, was not into genealogy back then so didn't know what to do. I guess I just marked it down to how can some people be so horrible:( Now, I realize that some of my family records were probably in those books:( Juanita Jones Johnson
