Sorry this thing has been a real bothersome one. Send the headers to me and I will try to get this stopped. Do not open any attachments. Here are some of the names that the W32/[email protected] virus/trojan uses: Card.pif docs.scr fun.pif hamster.ZIP.scr Humor.TXT.pif images.pif New_Napster_Site.DOC.scr news_doc.scr Me_nude.AVI.pif Pics.ZIP.scr README.TXT.pif s3msong.MP3.pif searchURL.scr SETUP.pif Sorry_about_yesterday.DOC.pif YOU_are_FAT!.TXT.pif I received several attachments that say "look at the attachment" another member received one that says, ""Me_nude" Let me say this one is easy and if you do get one like this, let me assure you it is not a picture of me nude! And if it was you should still delete it, <VBG> We all have to protect ourselves and be alert, check ALL of your email before you open your messages, get the sender's addy then delete anything with an attachment, write to me let me know, if you don't then I don't know who is getting hit and from where. Those who are infected will have to be unsubscribed until they get rid of the virus on their system. Then we will be happy to add them back to the list, this W32/[email protected] virus/trojan if not their fault, they are victims. We don't want to lose anyone who wants to be on this list but, we do need to get this stopped. The most important thing I think I can do is to inform the list, remind everyone that the poor infected person was a victim, ENCOURAGE YOU to run a virus scan using an up-to-date program, and reassure you of the safety of the way RootsWeb works. If you are infected go to this URL and maybe it will help you get rid of this darn thing: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.badtran [email protected] That should be on one line.
