Jan. 11, 1840 in Cincinatti, Ohio; d. Apr. 14, 1915 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington. Absolom was the son of Jacob SWANK and Ellen NISWONGER. Absolom married 1) Barbara E HEFFLEMAN on Sept. 13, 1860 (not sure where). They had children: Effie Ellconor b. Aug. 7, 1862 in Montgomery Co., Ohio Frost b. Jan. 30, 1863 in Montgomery Co., Ohio; married Alice HESS Sept. 16, 1885 in Yakima Co., Washington. Oskear b. July 20, 1866 in Montgomery Co., Ohio Jacob David b. Dec. 25, 1869 in Cedar Co., Missouri; married Luella MACY on Aug 18, 1894 in Clark Co., Washington. ABSOLOM then married Mary Margaret FIRESTONE on March 10, 1872 in Cedar Co., Missouri. Mary Margaret FIRESTONE was a widow. She was married to James Young William THOMPSON and John PAYNTER before Absolom. Mary Margaret was the daughter of Michael T FIRESTONE and Rebecca BROWN. She was b. Sept. 1, 1893 in Amsterdam, Botetourt Co., Virginia; d. July 9, 1909 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington. Absolom and Mary are both buried at Old City Cemetery, Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington. Absolom and Mary Margaret had the following children: Michael Elgar b. Dec. 12, 1872 in Cedar Co., Missouri; married L. Maud PEBBLES on Oct. 4, 1896 in Harmony, Clark Co., Washington. Hiram Newton b. Aug. 13, 1875 in Cedar Co., Missouri; d. Jan. 9, 1944 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington; married Laura Estella DETRICK on March 5, 1902 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington. Hiram and Laura are both buried at Old City Cemetery, Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington. Jemina Elizabeth (aka: Myma) b. Jan 20, 1879 in Cedar Co., Missouri; married Clinton G. FLEET. Altha Frances b. July 27, 1881 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington; d. Dec. 4, 1942 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington; married 1. Ira Eddy LAVER on Dec. 9, 1903 in Clark Co., Washington. Ira was the son of Charles Winslad LAVER and Keziah Dufonite GILLIHAN born on May 1881 in Clark Co., Washington; d. January of 1965 in San Diego, California. Altha then married 2. Joseph KRADWELL. Wilmer b. Nov. 2, 1883 in Fruit Valley Twp., Clark Co., Washington; d. Feb. 23, 1952 in Montreal, Quebec; married Hannah Jane LAVER on Aug. 30, 1905 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington. She was the daughter of Charles Winslad LAVER and Keziah Dufonite GILLIHAN born on Jan. 25, 1885 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington; died on Dec. 3, 1974 in Camas, Columbia Co., Washington.
