    3. Mike. This wouldn't be Thomas Benton Hopkins,b:1848,d:1920? From: Michael Gilliland To: [email protected] Sent: 7/24/01 7:58:29 PM Subject: Re: [MOCEDAR] Re: Benton Hopkins Family Hi, The Hopkins family that Thomas Benton Hopkins is my family line. I have a lot of info on that particular line including some of the Simrell family. Every year, in August, the Hopkins-Simrell reunion is held. I will have to check the date for this year. Is there any particular information that you are looking for. I have most of the family from today until the first Hopkins that came to the US from Wales in the 1700s. Maybe you could provide me some info as to your name and family so that I can see if I have you in our listings. Thomas Benton Hopkins married 3 Simrell's. The first was Martha Simrell. The 2nd was Nancy Anjeline Simrell (the sister of his first wife) and the 3rd was Susie (Sudie) Simrell who was the Sister-in-law to Nancy and Martha. Here is how my family falls under Thomas Benton Hopkins. Thomas Benton Hopkins - Nancy Anjeline Simrell James Henry Hopkins - Mary Estella Copeland Marion Herbert Bryson - Nancy Eula Hopkins Adrain William Clark - Toleta Margaret Bryson Charles Earl Gilliland - Nancy Marie Clark Michael Clark Gilliland - This one is me. 3. Hi Frank, Well, I do have a Thomas Benton Hopkins (b. 15 May 1841, d. 1904). He is the son of Solomon Hopkins (b. 13 Mar 1813, d. 20 Sep 1853) and Mary Hartley (b. 9 Oct 1813, d. 8 Aug 1896). The dates are a little off but we might be talking about the same person. Speaking of this I am trying to document some information and I do not know how much some of you who have this line will have. It has always been talked about in our family that William Hopkins (b. 1735) married Jane Bolling of the Bolling family that hails from England and has the US Air Force Base in Washington DC named after them. The question is that if any one has information from Orange Co. North Caroline that might shed some light on the early part of our family. William's father is James Hopkins (d. 1758 or 59 and hailed from Wales) and it is said that William had three children. Andrew (b. 1761) James Bolling Hopkins (b. 17 June 1765, d. 1849) John B Hopkins (b. 1770) James Bolling Hopkins married Peggy Woods (d. 1793 or 94). In 1781 he enlisted and served as a Private under Captain Parrish, Major Humphrey and Colonel Thomas Farmer in the NC Regiment. James married Elizabeth Billingsley around 1795 and had 8 children by this marriage. Anyway, I guess that I need to find a North Carolina list to put some of this information out to see if I can get some bites. If anyone has any sources for information I would appreciate it. Thanks all. Michael on 7/25/2001 8:00 PM, Frank Finck at [email protected] wrote: > > Mike. This wouldn't be Thomas Benton > Hopkins,b:1848,d:1920? >
