Since I posted my query, I have been able to obtain some information about Emma C. Carlow Damer Lindquist Wallis. Emma was married for short while to my grandfather, Arthur Estill Wallis, having married him shortly before his death in 1931. My aunt Eva Lauck was a daughter of Arthur Estill Wallis, so a step-daughter of Emma. I have a copy of an eulogy my aunt wrote upon the death of Emma in 1952. It's the type of eulogy a person likes to see about an ancestor. Emma must have been a wonderful person.
