Hello to the list, Does anyone know if there is a town of Concord in Cedar Co. MO? I have had info passed on to me that my great great uncle John E. CASH b. 1850 Cedar Co. MO(listed on 1850 Cedar Co. MO census w/ father/mother in Lynn twnsp.) was born near Concord. They were all from East TN...from Roane/Meigs Co. and had come to Cedar w/ the FORD and ROWDEN family.I can't find a Concord on my map in either TN or MO...so I am wondering if the Concord connection is a red herring. Thanks for any help. Sincerely, Christopher D. Cash
Concord was the name of a rural community about 6 mile south of Stockton on 39 Highway. There used to be a church and rural schoolhouse there but nothing is left to speak of. At one time it probably (I don't know for sure but a lot of small communities did have) had a blacksmith shop, post office and maybe other necessities.
