October 7, 1814 d. August 1880 in Dodd City, Fannin County, Texas). James and Betheny Cawthon were in Cedar County from 1850 until about 1866-7. Daughter was Mary Cawthon (born about 1849) who married Asa R. Lewellen on Sept. 6, 1863 in Stockton, Cedar County, Missouri. Asa R. Lewellen was killed in Stockton on Feb. 13, 1865. Asa R. and Mary (Cawthon) Lewellen had one child, Asa James Lewellen, born Oct. 7, 1864. Would like to correspond with anyone doing research on the Cawthon or Lewellen/Lewallen lines.
