    3. If it is the same Clifford LeAn I knew, he's buried in the Humansville Cemetery, Polk County, MO. His wife was Kathleen. They had two sons, Bobby & I want to say Billy, but that doesn't sound right. Bobby lives in Nevada last I heard. Clifford was killed in a fiery wreck on Hwy 13, maybe 30 years ago. He was driving a gas truck. Roland LeAn, father of Bill and Darrell LeAn, still lives in Humansville. Bill is a co-owner of an auction service, Bruce-LeAnn in Humansville. I don't remember but I think Clifford and Roland were brothers. I may have to look in my old Humansville Centennial book (which is at Stockton) Glenda Pate Cedar County Library 717 East Street 808 S. 3. Hi Juvanne, Kate Snow asked for input, so I responded. As the building isn't very large, it would seem not a great task. Perhaps a school history project could be part of it, with students making an appeal to several contracting companies. As my email apparently went only to you, there was no other response; my bad. When he entered service he gave Cedar County, MO as his home of record. Soldier:LESTER A COX Born:December 29, 1929. Caucasian Date of loss:Sept. 12 1950, Captured (POW). His remains were never recovered. When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. There are 78 families in Missouri that have not been located. There is one family from Cedar County that has not been located. When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency. I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family. 3. I would be willing to help see what could be done, but I don't know how to go about things like that. They put in new carpet upstairs and added new windows, and a new roof. I think the 3rd roof, I wonder was that too much weight?? Now, they just want to tear it down. As far as I know they didn't ask for my or anyone for that matter what we thought. 2. I, too, was upset. It looked like something could be fixed. When I visited Stockton after the tornado, I was disturbed and upset. A picture of the old jail (that we used to walk past on the way home from school) is not the same as having the building. Is it another thing we have to give up, or is there someone aggressive enough to fight for its restoration? Billie (Alberti) Denny
