Gallatin. HH# 88/86. He is 65 years old, born in Ireland. Others in his household are: William Carlow age 31, born Canada West; Albert Carlow age 25 born Canada West; Isabella Carlow age 22 born Canada West; Anna Carlow age 16 born Canada West. Haven't found anything on this family before 1870, so they were likely still in Canada. BTW I'm not related. Marilyn

Esther Louisa Carlow Sanders died 24 April 1929 in Oakland, Alameda Co, CA. She is thought to have been born in Canada. Her father was Georg/George Carlow supposedly born in Ireland. I think she had some brothers, but have not been able to determine. Don't know if there is any relation between your Carlow and my Carlow. The Carlow name is rather unusual.

I have done a history of this part of the Worthington family I'd be glad to share with you. I finally got hold of a picture of Robet W. and Nancy Harmon, his wife. I found war records for Robert W. who served in the union-formed Missouri Militia. Missing, however, is information on Preston Thomas Worthington, one of Robert W's brothers, who I believe fought for the confederacy. At least, I have copies of recruitment papers for a "P. Worthington" from the same part of Missouri that Robert. W. came from. Any information you have on Preston, who died in his early 20s while the war was still on, would be appreciated. Since I posted my query, I have been able to obtain some information about Emma C. Carlow Damer Lindquist Wallis. Emma was married for short while to my grandfather, Arthur Estill Wallis, having married him shortly before his death in 1931. My aunt Eva Lauck was a daughter of Arthur Estill Wallis, so a step-daughter of Emma. I have a copy of an eulogy my aunt wrote upon the death of Emma in 1952. It's the type of eulogy a person likes to see about an ancestor. Emma must have been a wonderful person. I will be glad to share the eulogy with you, and any information I have that you might want about Arthur Estill Wallis. Thank you for your response to my query. Regards, Helen Thomas

Your research reveals a spelling of Linquist rather than Lindquist. That explains why I couldn't find any hits searching for Lindquist. I will go back and look again. There are a number of coincidences in the data but also a number of discrepancies. More research is required to make any conclusions. I am confused by the footnote for William John Linquist. My info from the census shows William J. Lindquist is the son of John Henry Lindquist but the dates don't jive. Thanks, Jerry Buthmann

Wallis. I believe she is the same Emma Lindquist that is one of my ancestors. Her maiden name is Emma Caro (Carlow?), born in Jul 1970 in Nebraska to parents that immigrated from England via Canada? She married John Henry Lindquist, born in Jul 1862 in Sweden. Based on the 1900, 1910, 1920 Census they issued 8 to 12 children. The census data are ambiguous from 1900 to 1910. Their third child, Minnie Adelade Lindquist is my maternal grandmother. I have an obituary from my Grandmother's death 15 Nov 1942 that lists her mother as a survivor named Emma [Wallace] of Joplin, Mo. I am just getting started on my family tree but would certainly look forward to collaborating with you. If you have any other information I would enjoy hearing from you. Regards, Jerry Buthmann
