I will also need your email address to send it. Jacob Phillips was one of the younger sons of Clemmons & Agnes (Turner) Phillips. He was a revolutionary was soldier who was an early settler in northern TN (from NC). I have found out quite a bit of information about him (tho' wills and DoD etc were lost when Morgan Co, TN courthouse was burned during Civil War). I found a family tree online which I have spent a fair amount of time verifying and correcting. At some point I will try to share that as well. I couldn't attach family data sheets (in word format) about Clemmons Phillips and his two wives and on Jacok & Jane Phillips to this posting so have cut and pasted the information into three separate postings, to follow. I have pictures of the gravestones of several of his children. I'll attach these in a later posting. This is exciting to find new "kin" however distantly related! I did that myself years ago of my whole file, then lost it all in a computer crash! Also the info you mentioned you collected when visiting TN, that would be great. Have you posted any of this online? I don't want you to have to go to a lot of trouble. The parents I have in my file for Jane Miller are Mathias Miller, b Scotland & Mary Wood(s), b Ireland. I don't have my source for this, must have put it in before I started sourcing names. Thanks, Linda Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi Norma, I looked at my family files and I do have two Daniels. One is Benjamin Woodson Daniel, b. 1749 and his son Tapley/Tassley b. 1785. I don't know where I got those names! One of those dreadful mistakes of not documenting enough. I have two Tillman lines. One is through Cedar County. The other is my aunt's ex-husband Lincoln R."Ted" Tillman. I don't know where he was born, but died in Chickasha, OK. Thanks, Jann ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Is your Cassity line related to Burnett or Tillman? ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Thanks for quick response Jann. I know exactly what you mean about under-documenting. Unfortunately, it's like raising kids. By the time you're experienced enough to know what you're doing, you've spent all that time doing something, that had you knoiwn earlier, could have made things turn out absolutely, positiviely, wonderful instead of just OK, good, or great. I believe your Benj Woodson DANIEL might belong to the line of a friend and previous co-worker (before we both retired) of mine. We're pretty sure we're related somewhere along the way, but she's not doing research, just curious and has some passed down from other family members - and I've not done any geni in years, since I too had a computer screw-up. We have a TILMAN m into our DANIEL in either Cedar or Dade Co's (next to one another, so could be either.) I think it was in the Chester DANIEL line, either as a sibling, or child. Peter DANIEL was either Chester DANIEL's fa or G'fa (Fa, I think) ... and Chester's sibling William Blueford DANIEL is my line. He was my GG-G'fa if I'm remembering correctly. I have most, if not all, of this in hard copy in one of the 200 or so binders I have, but it's been over seven years since I've done any real research, and I just don't remember what form of organizational acumen I happened to be in at that time, so have no idea what or where I've put them in the binders. I don't know about you, but I've switched ways of doing things so many times, it's hard to figure out what I did sometimes. :-P I'll pass this info on to Bety, re the Benj Woodson DANIEL ... do you have anything further on them besides just those names and dates? Perhaps you might find that useful? I also visited Lindley Prairie Cemetery just East of Bearcreek (where Jane and Jacob Phillips and many of my other relatives lived) and took photos of all of the tombstones that i thought were relevant. I have also visited TN and found out a lot about Jacob Phillips' father, grandfather, uncles, etc and visited the places where many of them lived and were buried. I am still not sure about Jane Miller Phillips parents. Do you know who they were? I'm not sure what you know or want to know or might be able to use. Please let me know. He's in the phone book under Robert. Polk County Genealogical Sociey Library has a lot of good information. Dade County Library in Greenfield has the best genealogical library (in my opinion) in this area. It is mostly Dade County.
