    1. Re: [MOCEDAR] 1870 Census Lookup Needed
    2. Say, this caught my eye. I have three different Eslinger men, all of whom I believe are sons of Thomas Lessley Eslinger and Lucinda Wilson, who married women in my Bland line in Cedar County. Lewis Marshall Eslinger b. 8/28/1885 married Edith Bland; Edgar Eslinger b. 3/11/1888 married Elsie Maude Conner; then after he died young his brother Willis Franklin Eslinger b. 3/21/1891 also married Elsie Maude Conner. I would love any additional information. 2. Also......my Cash's, which were from the same area that these English's came from on Roane/Meigs Co. TN, also settled near Stockton. Associated families are Ford, Rowden, Duncan?...many others which appear to have come to Cedar Co. MO in the 1840's. According to the family of my ggguncle, he was born 1850 near Concord, Lynn Twnsp., Cedar Co. MO. From what people tell me, it is just South of Stockton. Hope some of this helps...take Care, Chris.

    2. Hi Jim, OK...checked my 1830 Rhea Co. TN Census(later becomes Meigs Co. 1836): Allen, James 1200001-102101 pg. 357...my James I. Cash is on this page along w/ brother Bogan. The name Allen Cash winds up in my Close Cash families as it does in the Gibson family from the area. Never does Allen show up as a name in my East TN group...only here in North Meigs/South Roane. This is area of Roane/Meigs border....not far from the Allen on the Roane Co. TN Census . Continuing on w/ Rhea(later Meigs Co.) TN....... Allen, Mark 202001-022001 pg. 357 side by side w/ James above pg. 388 English, Matthew 00201101-00001001 on same page: Allen, Matthew 20001-2001 pg. 388 Allen, Andrew 200001-2001 pg. 392 note Andrew English below. Rhea Co. was split down the middle in 1836....the right of the Tn River became Meigs Co. and the left was what was left of Rhea. So, I am not sure if this area for Rhea is now modern day Meigs Co. My Cash's are on pg. 354-59 which supposedly sit on the border of Modern day South Roane Co. and North Meigs. There are also in South Roane Co.... Roane Co. TN Census for 1830 English, Andrew 10001-00001 pg. 8.....surrounding names Hardin, Deatherage, Webb, Jolley, Jennings, Riggs..etc. My 2nd great grandfather James Monroe Cash aka "Monroe" b. 1825 TN's father?...William Cash was on page 4. Elijah Rowden is on same page and he also went to Cedar Co. MO by 1850 with my Monroe Cash and Ford families. Apparently, they were in Lynn Twnsp., near the old community of Concord. Monroe comes back after he is burned out of his farm in 1860 and fights for the Confederacy w/ many of these men and their families while living in North Meigs Co.. In the roster of Confederates in Welcker's Batt'n(based out of Roane Co.) Allen, Valentine Well, hope this helps some....no Allen's in the 1810-15 catagory, but maybe there is still a link here. Sure sounds like maybe this is your family or a branch of them. Let me know if anything connects. Take Care and hope to hear, Chris Cash

    3. Thank you for your letter. The only real info I have is that James Madison Allen was born in TN in 1813 so he would have been 17 in 1830. JMA and Phoebe were married in 1836 in Polk Co., MO so she probably would have been between 10 and 17 in 1830. Do you have any families that lived near each other that might fit these ages? Thanks again for your help and your letter. 2. On the off chance that it might connect, I have an English and Allen family in close proximity in Roane Co. TN in 1830. I have an Andrew English pg. 8(age 20-30) and a William Allen on pg. 13...age 60-70. This is in the border region of Roane/Meigs and I believe there are English's in Meigs also. My Cash family(pg. 4 of Roane Co. TN Census for 1830) came to Cedar Co. MO with other Roane/Meigs families ca. 1848....FORDS, ROWDENS and DUNCAN's. Well, hope this helps.....maye there is a connection for you in those counties of East TN. Let me know if this might connect, Chris...I can also look on my Rhea/Meigs ceneus for the English and Allen families. I believe they are also prominent in 2 Confederate Cavalry Units in East TN.
