I am not sure about this English family;however, my husband's family are related to the Inglish in Moniteau County as well as the Vivions. His grandmother was Jennie Pettigrew, daughter of James and Harriet Duncan Pettigrew. James is the son of Matthew and Cynthia Vivion Pettigrew. Would love to share information. I'm wondering if by chance these ENGLISH came from the middle MO area? Like Cooper or Moniteau Counties in MO? Could they by chance also tie into VIVION/BUSH/etc.? Correction to the previous messages. Martha Jane ENGLISH married John LeFORS in March 1837. Letitia CAMPBELL ENGLISH died about 1847 in Cedar Co. and is probably buried in that county. I would like to know-- Where? Her parents were Alexander and Amy EATON CAMPBELL of TN. Thomas ENGLISH married Mahala TIPPIT YOKUM in June 1848. They are listed on the 1850 Census of Cedar Co. Sometime after that they sold the land in Cedar Co. and moved to Claiborne Parish, LA. Thomas died in 1855 and is buried in Claiborne Parish. There is some evidence to indicate he may have been buried in the Lisbon Cemetery. Mahala is in Hopkins County, TX for the 1870 Census and in Dec. 1870 when her grandson, Thomas Henry LeFORS visited with her.
For those who may be a little nervous about using the new message boards, I copied this message from Jake Gehring as he explained it much better than I can. I am enjoying the new format of the boards, example from the same screen I can post an obituary, biography, marriage record, birth record, bible, pension, will and there may be a couple more. You choose from a drop down menu what you are posting. More about the search capabilities below. MESSAGE FROM THE ROOTSWEB HOME OFFICE by Jake Gehring, RootsWeb Executive Producer (this is only part of the message, complete message was previously published by RootsWeb.com, Inc., RootsWeb Review: RootsWeb's Genealogy News, Vol. 4, No. 29, 18 July 2001. RootsWeb: http://www.rootsweb.com/) ".... The new system shows search results ranked by relevance -- meaning that the system will display the best hits first. For example, messages that contain all of your terms are ranked higher than those that contain only some. Here are a couple of additional search tips: Wildcard Searching. The new message boards allow wildcard searching as long as the user specifies at least the first three characters in the word (i.e., users can search for "gehr*" to find "gehring, gehrig, gehrke," etc.). Search Operators. New functionality allows users to add powerful operators to their search terms to affect results. These operators, the plus and minus signs, are placed just before your search terms and function like popular Internet search engines Yahoo! and AltaVista. If you put a plus (+) sign in front of any word, that word *must* appear in a message for it to be a match. If there are terms that you want to exclude (you don't want to see messages in which these terms appear), you can place a minus sign (-) in front of them. For example, a search for "+gehring heinrich -baden" will return only those hits that contain the word "gehring" but not the word "baden", and in this group any messages containing "heinrich" will be displayed before those that don't. Try out these new search features next time you visit the boards. Happy hunting!" Previously published by RootsWeb.com, Inc., RootsWeb Review: RootsWeb's Genealogy News, Vol. 4, No. 29, 18 July 2001. Unfortunately not. As many KELL(E)Y's abound in both Polk and Cedar Counties and I don't connect to any of them. My KELLY line doesn't even come close to MO. LOL! Actually my KELLY line came from AL and migrated to TX. My parents were college sweethearts. Sorry, wish I could help. I may be able to help. Leila is a town in Cedar Co., MO. Some of my family is from there. I have done research on the Hart's. I find a Finis Ewing Hart b 1-17-1871 or 1-27-1871. Married 3-31-1900's in Arkansas to Lila Collins. He died 1-29-1929 or 1-12-1929. His father was Joseph Nelson Hart and mother Manerva Catharine Kirkpatrick. As far as I know, they only had two children. Charley and Ada. If you think this is your connection, let me know. Joseph and Manerva had 7 other children beside Finis. One was Arminta Jane Haynes who married Charley Manley Haynes which are my great grandparents. I lived in Cedar Co. (El Dorado Springs) from age 3 until around 13 and then we moved 13 miles east of El Dorado on Highway 13. I stayed there till I married and moved away. Linda Leonard

Hi Sandi, I did not find any information of a brother named William Lundy Bass. The family that I have listed with Mary Ellen Bass are below: William Franklin Bass - father Nancy Brown - mother James Alfred Bass (b Feb 19, 1882; d. Aug 23, 1884) Bertie Edward Bass (b Aug 15, 1884; d. Aug 12, 1885) Mary Ellen Bass (b. Sep 23, 1887; d. July 8 1978) Lessie May Bass (b. Sep 20 1892; d. May 26, 1974) Minnie Ann Bass (b. Feb 17, 1896; d, Apr 4 1971) Millie Jane Bass (b. Mar 18, 1900; d. Nov 12, 1964) Clyde William Bass (b. Sep 26, 1904; d. Oct 24, 1995) Ora Lee Bass (b. Sep 18, 1907; d. Jul 16, 1961) I believe that this information is complete but of course I could always be wrong. We have pretty good records of this family. If you have other Bass inquiries let me know. Always happy to look through my information. Have a good weekend. By chance, did any of these BASS marry a Lena GODBEY? I'm guesstimating about 1900 time frame or a few years later? I have a Lena Godbey-BASS who was the daughter of my great-grandfather's sister. I know Lena ended up in Bartow, FL and was alive at least in 1946. Lena would most likely have been born about 1880-1885 time frame. I have no idea where Lena was born, but the GODBEY-WINTON family were in Polk and Cedar Counties.
