Looking for information on Joseph Strange. I believe he married Sarah Maguffee. Joseph bought land around 1857 in Cedar Co. They had a daughter Maria/Mariah E Strange born 3/19/1848. Maria/Mariah E Strange married David R Turner about 1867 in Cedar CO. Around 1876 David Turner died and Maria bought land in Cedar CO. Before 1880 Mariah E Strange Turner married Jesse Tannehill. Mariah died 10/17/1914 in Ozark County, MO.

Thanks, Jacquelyn, for your reply. I have found more info on Jefferson Elias Fleeman, but I still have some gaps, I think his grandfather was Elias Fleeman b; abt 1800, he is a bro. to George Fleeman (b; 1792, in Henry Co. Va.D:in 1870 and is buried in Cedar Co. Mo.), there are several other siblings. George Fleeman married Martha "Patsy" Purkenson, on June 30, 1818 in Henry Co. Va. From the info I have your George Collin Fleeman (b:June 19, 1837, d: Aug. 21, 1891 in Cedar Co. Mo.) was the son of George & Martha, but I have him married to Mary Patterson on Apr. 10th 1856 in Henry Co. Va.I got this info from a Raymond Pace off the internet, he sent me 7-gen. of Fleemans starting with George (B:1792) If you would like to have the rest of the info on this branch let me know.and I will send it as an attachment. It doesn't have any more info on George Collin & Mary Fleeman tho'. His line is with Hezekiah Fleeman, brother to George Collin Fleeman. I think my Jefferson Elias Flee! man's father was Joseph W. Fleeman, but haven't got positive proof yet. Thanks again for your input, keep in touch, I'm sure we are related somewhere along the long line. Lea from MO.
Hey there: Not my John Anderson. Just too common a name. I know that I certainly have run into a lot of wrong turns. Good luck with your hunt.
Does anyone have the names of all the Civil War vets from Cedar County or know where I can find them on line???? I am interested in the Joneses. Thanks, Juanita Jones Johnson

Care to share your Brown info? The only ones I know there were descended from a brother of my gr-gr-grandfather. He was Squire Brown who was born in Virginia, but migrated to Sumner County, TN where he married and they then went to Todd Co., KY before settling in Cedar Co., MO. He was said to have been in the Civil War, where he died. More on my website: www.tnpride.com/browngen/ I was in Cedar Co this spring (2001) and found graves of several of Squire's children. FB
My great grandfather was James L. Fleeman born in Cedar County April 8, 1874 and married Lena M. Curl in 1896.
