When I first started the Cedar Co. web site everyone would send the SURNAMES they were researching in Cedar Co. to be added to the surname page. Then with the invention of the message boards, we kind of quit adding the surnames on the local site. However, on rethinking this I am convinced that we might benefit from having those on site, where they can be easily found. Sometimes the improvements are wonderful in some ways but more complicated in others. Having said all that, if you are searching for surnames in Cedar Co. and do not have them listed, and would like them added to the list send them to me privately with SURNAME in the subject line. You might go check your entries to make sure your e-mail is still current. Another idea, the new message boards have a category for births, marriages, deaths. I think it would be a great Idea if we all added those records on the county boards where our ancestors were born, married, died and are buried. If enough people do that, it should be a great help finding and tracking those illusive ancestors. Thank you Glenda! This answers one question, my next question is when was the next census? I know Jacob shows up in Veterans Census 1890, I am trying to pin down Sarah, she probably died while in Cedar Co. John as well as he is not listed as a living child on Jacobs pension papers. Would really like death dates and burials on these two. Can anyone help? In Stockton Christian Church note In 1923 Brother A. T. Mahaney, with the help of the Blake family, Geneva Hacker, and a few other ladies, reorganized and revived the church. I also looked in St. Clair County families and cementery book and couldn't find any Earp. Don't think this help much, but at least I tried.
