Hi Joanne, I need some more info; Frank's mom's name and death date may help and do you know where she died?(don't know if there's a local paper in 1880 or not, but I'll check) I'll look for tax records or estate records; not positive what's available. Also, do you have the 1880 census record? It may have been taken after her death? or if before her death and the McRoberts lived nearby, neighbors often took in children who had no other family. I know it's available at the library, but don't want to duplicate work already done. Also did Frank have any siblings? E-mail me direct with what you do know and I'll see if I can dig anything up. Hi Franks mother was Nancy Christine Lamon Williams Potts. She is shown on the Bates County 1880 census with her husband Charles Potts and 10 children. Some were his, some were hers and some were theirs. She died 12/24/1880 and all the children were raised by friends and relatives. All I know is Frank age 7 was taken in by an older couple with the last name McRoberts. He stayed with them until 1889. At age 16 he migrated with several of his older brothers to Seattle and the Yukon. My goal is to verify who the family was that raised Frank. Thanks for your help.
