    1. [MOCASS] From List Mom Regarding Roll Call
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, Lets have a Roll Call this weekend. The Roll Call will begin on Thursday Morning April 18th and continue on through Sunday evening April 21st. (PLEASE DO NOT BEGIN TO SEND YOUR ROLL CALL POSTINGS UNTIL THURSDAY MORNING.) Post your Surnames, dates townships if known and if you are posting to multiple counties that I take care of, be sure and mention county. If you are posting to a county along a state line when I take care of lists on both sides, you might also mention the state. You are welcome to post as much information as you wish and as little as long as there is a Surname, county and or time period. Be sure and watch the Subject line and CHANGE IT TO MATCH YOUR ROLL CALL POSTING to encourage members to read your message, such as ROLL CALL: SMITH, JONES, KELLETT 1830-1870 COUNTY NAME. PLEASE DO NOT JUST HIT RETURN AND TYPE IN YOUR INFORMATION!!!! CHANGE THE SUBJECT LINE AND DELETE THE LAST MESSAGE LONG WITH TAGLINES. Following these instructions will make this a much better Roll Call for all our members including yourself. For those members who do not like Roll Calls, just delete the messages and know that come Sunday night - it will be over. I continue to appreciate your support. It is because of each of you that our list is as strong as it is. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    1. [MOCASS] Roll Call-McSpadden & Porter
    2. Bennett N Andrews
    3. The Roll Call is a great idea. My Surnames of interest are: McSPADDEN, PORTER & CUMMINS/CUMMINGS Counties of interest: Old Van Buren, Bates, Cass, & Jackson Robert McSpadden married Margaret Porter 7 Aug 1832 in Rutherford Co, KY. They, along with Margaret's parents, Rev Samuel Porter, are enumerated in 1840 in Old Van Buren Co, MO. Robert McSpadden patented land along the Grand River - Some in Cass, some in Bates Co. In 1850, Robert McSpadden, wife Margaret, & sons Madison & Samuel are listed on the Bates Co, Dist. No 6 Being Census. In 1860, neither Robert or Margaret are listed, & the 2 boys are with Porter families. Madison with Hugh Porter in Jackson Co; Samuel is with the William Porter family in Jackson Co. It would appear the Robert & Margaret died between 1850 & 1860, but I have no dates nor where they are buried. I also found where Margaret McSpadden patented land as late as 1857 in Cass Co, Southwest of Garden City. Their son, my great grandfather, Madison Monroe McSpadden married Cassandra Cummings/Cummins or Casandra Cummins Coleman 12 Dec 1865 in Jackson Co, MO. He seems to have lived & died around Garden City, MO in Cass County. Here again, I have no dates or burial site. Any help appriciated. If you are related to these people, I'm very interested in communicating with you Thanks Bennett Andrews andrews@ionet.net
