You didn't specify any dates <tsk, tsk>. This is the only Jospeh Cathey I found with a MO connection and he was in Cass Co. in 1870, but I see no signs of a wife Hannah. Could she have been called Jennie??? Census: 1870 > Missouri > CASS > PLEASANT HILL TWP Series: M593 Roll: 767 Page: 669 CATHEY JOSEPH O 14 M W MO MO CASS PLEASANT HILL TWP 1870 living with a carpenter John S. Moore, 30, b Ky, and family, plus Lee Grand Cathey 9, and James Cathey 21, all b MO. =========================================== 1910 > Texas > DALLAS > 7-WD DALLAS Series: T624 Roll: 1544 Page: 214 CATHEY JOSEPH A 52 M W MO TX DALLAS 7-WD DALLAS 1910, b Mo, parents b SC, wife Jennie, son Arthur, dau Alice. He's a collector for a real estate office. ============================================= He's still there in 1920 as Joseph O., and is an inspector of city walks, with wife Jennie and dau Alice. 1920 > Texas > DALLAS > DALLAS 20-PCT Series: T625 Roll: 1792 Page: 113 CATHY JOSEPH O 64 M W MO TX DALLAS DALLAS 20-PCT 1920 Don't know if this is the same guy you want or not, but A's often look like O's and vice versa so, with the other given names, etc., I'm pretty sure this is all one guy. ============================================ He is in TX in 1880 with wife Jennie, and is a marble cutter. For more, see 1880 census at familysearch.org ============================================ Here's a Nathan Gregg: GREGG NATHAN 66 M W OH MO CASS SUGAR CRK TWP 1870 Gregg, Nathan, 66, b OH, farmer Susana, 67, b OH with John 24, Jacob 23, and Amos?(hard to read)21. There is also a John 13 and Mary 11 whose last names are not Gregg but I can't read it (Lyttle?) and two others, George M. 23 and Martha 21, whose last name I also can't read (Tyler? Zybas?) There were a couple of younger Nathan's elsewhere in MO but couldn't be the same one as above. ============================================= --- Appel <okie_jayhawk@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > Is there anyone out there looking for the > surnames of GREGG and CATHEY.
