    3. For those looking for ancestors who disappeared from Cass Co. ca 1873, you might try southern Colorado. The "Colorado Weekly Chieftain" (Pueblo, Pueblo Co., Colo.) of 13 March 1873 (p. 4) carries a short piece about my great-grandparents, Henry Clay and Mary Ellen (SHARP) WITHERS. After a trip from Pueblo, Colorado, to their old home in Cass County, Henry Clay was quoted as saying that there would be "a big rush for Pueblo and Southern Colorado, from Missouri, this spring." He described four teams from Harrisonville ("loaded with women and children") starting out for Pueblo, plus a Pleasant Hill group bound for southern Colorado. Mary C.
