In my posting about taxes I apparently didn't explain that I am looking for early tax records in Cass Co, Missouri. It's said that in early years people were taxed for different things, horses, buggies and etc. Guess this would be called personal taxes. I lost track of Almon HUFF after 1860 when he left Iowa and showed up in Saline Co, Mo, in 1871 when a daughter got married in Almon's home. He's not there in the 1870 census, but shows up in Cass Co, Mo in the 1880 Fed. census. If there are tax records still available I thought this would give me an idea as to when he settled in the different areas.
