    1. Nursing Homes in Belton Missouri
    2. A great-great aunt (Aura Wilton Young) lived in Belton, Missouri during the late 50s (from postmark on a letter I have in my possession). She is buried in Litchfield, Montgomery County, Illinois (where she was born). We cannot locate a death certficate, but the local funeral home records show that she died in 1966 at the Cottage Nursing Home. There was apparently no such place in Montgomery County, Illinois. Does anyone know if there was a nursing home by that name in the Belton, Missouri area. Thanks for your input. Tom D.

    3. Tom, Since you have already checked the funeral home, did you get a copy of the Record of Funeral from them? Go over that record, since it should show exactly WHERE she passed away. If she passed away someplace else, the record should show which funeral home first handled her, since the funeral home in Litchfield would be the funeral home that handled her buriel. I have been trying for some time to get people to check funeral records for loved ones who have passed, since most funeral home keep records going back to the early 1900s, if they have been in business that long. Usually, if a funeral home is bought out, the records will stay with the local funeral home. The funeral homes USUALLY give the information to the papers for obituaries to be printed, so the funeral record would be a very good source docuiment. I've been getting funeral records since about 1994, and it has helped me tremendously! In some records, even the cause of death is included, along with the exact place in the cemetery where they are buried. Also, survivors are listed, sometimes with addresses and phone numbers, as well as pall bearers. Funeral home listing from all over the world can be found at www.funeralnet.com. Good luck with your search! ciao!
