Just how do I get some help. Please! I am looking for information on James Tucker who I was told own land there in the year 1837. Looking for family connection with Perlina, Lucinda and Julia Ann sisters. Please contact me analogkidd@msn.com directly. Thanks Terry Mendenhall California Research for; Mendenhall, Thompson, England, James, and Tuckers
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Mrs. VANVOLKENBURGH taken at the Field's Studio in Harrisonville or Belton, Missouri. The photograph is dated Feb 8th 1890 and includes the address, 789 W. 13th along with a note "size 18x20" suggesting that a larger copy of the photograph was ordered. I'm hoping to find someone from the family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
It's difficult to help you without dates, but there was only one Tedford whose first name started with "L" in the 1870 census index for MO - a 36 yr. old Leroy Tedford in Sugar Creek Twp., Randolph Co., with a wife named Piety. She was still listed, without him, as Piety Tedford in the same county in 1910. No "L" Tedford is listed in MO in 1910. But why do you think the sister lived in MO? And wouldn't both the obit writer and the person who labeled the photo both have to be mistaken? Seems most unlikely... --- Helen Bremmer <hbremmer@webtv.net> wrote: > Hi! > Is there anyone on this list who has done > research on these two > surnames? Hi! Is there anyone on this list who has done research on these two surnames? I have two questions: 1) James and Susan (nee HUBBARD) BURFORD adopted three children one of whom was Richard OWSLEY. They are supposed to have only adopted the children of relatives. I've accounted for the others but not Richard. Anyone recognize him? 2) On Edward HUBBARD'S obituary his sister is identified as Mrs. L.A. TEDFORD. My problem is that the only sister that I know he had living in Cass county was Mattie RYAN (nee HUBBARD) and she is buried with her husband Charles in BURFORD cemetery. My father knew her and says she never remarried after her husband's death. I would be interested in hearing from any TEDFORD researchers even if you can see no immediate connections as there is an old photograph of a Mattie TEDFORD with the notation that she was my father's g-g-aunt. It's possible that the obituary writer made a mistake which would not be unusual! Helen Bremmer http://community.webtv.net/hbremmer/AncestralTrailsanda
Could use some help please. Would like some help on the James Tucker, that was in Cass Co. 1838. I believe that I was told he owned land there. Terry
Hello Listers, My husband has a gr. Aunt that died in the ABC Nursing Home in Harrisonville, Cass Co. MO. Her funeral arrangements were done by Hinton Funeral Home. Can someone tell me if this particular business is still there, or perhaps bought by someone else and the name changed? I need to contact them for some information on the lady mentioned above. Also Where is Beldon Cemetery and does anyone have an index to look up her name and dates for me. Mabel/Mable Rosella Daykin Dodsworth, we think she died about 1975-76. Any help and/or suggestions appreciated. Shirley in OK.
Dear List Members, I look forward to the year 2003 being a great one for our list. Because of the amount new members we have subscribing every day, I feel it is time to again post the suggested rules of the list...even us long time members need reminding once in a while. 1 I have very few rules on the lists I watch over. The main one is to treat your fellow members as you would like to be treated. Also the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me Kathleen Burnett KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net 2. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. When you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly Spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. Some suggestions to make our list run smoother are: 1. If you would put information such as names, places, and dates relating to your posting, in the subject line, it might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. 2. Please remember to delete the taglines and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 3. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. If you do notice that one of our members has a virus, please do not post their name and e-mail address across the list. Let me know and I will take care of the problem. Most likely the member already knows and is in a major state of stress. Receiving messages of each of us will only cause his or her stress level to rise. 4. Please remember, we have members from all walks of life, all ages and all levels of education on our list. Be understanding. The very person who mis-spelled every other word in their posting could be the very one with your missing family bible in their attic. Some sites to remember: 1. There is a great Rootsweb site, Password Central, you can go to if You want to find out what Rootsweb lists you are a member of or need to unsubscribe from a list, just follow the instructions. http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ 2. If you would like to visit the archived messages for this list you may go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you want to see the archives for. From there you can search by date. 3. If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fullers Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. The Cass County Burial Index is available on the CassMoFind site. The URL is http://members.fortunecity.com/cassmofind CASS MO FIND The Historical Society will be putting up their new website soon which will contain the new updated obit list but the burial index will remain on the CassMoFind site. Brenda Marble
Hi, Perhaps someone can help me. I have been trying to access the completed cemetery listings. They were on Cass Mo Find but I can no longer reach that website. My understanding was that the Cass County Historical Society would be putting them on a new website. Does anyone have a URL? Helen Bremmer http://community.webtv.net/hbremmer/AncestralTrailsanda
Kathleen - Enjoy every minute! Thank you for all your help to us on the list. Frances
Dear List Members, On Monday, December 23, I begin my Christmas Holiday week. I am spending it with my four children, their wives and husbands and my 9.5 grandchildren. It will be the first time in over 10 years I have had all my children with me for Christmas. I am thrilled to say the least. It is hard, as many of you know, when all of your children and grandchildren live thousands of miles from you. As you have already guessed, I will not be spending as much time as usual online watching over your list, but I will be back to full time on Tuesday, December 31st. I have also chosen not to have a list-sitter watch you while I am away. I really do not think you need one. I will be checking in each evening after the grandchildren and down for the day. If there is a problem which you think I need to address, send a personal message to me at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net. I will check those first thing each night. If off topic messages are sent or if suddenly someone calls for a Roll Call, please just let it pass. Just smile and remember what I would say and hit that delete button. I will take care of the problems for you as soon as I check in. I have the best lists on Rootsweb and the greatest members so I know you will be just fine. I wish for each of you and yours a special Holiday Season filled with love, friendship, friends and family. I thank each of you for your friendship and for your support this past year. You fill my my world. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
Linda The Nancy (McAninich) Smith who is buried in Pleasant Hill was married to John Craven Smith. Martha, who is probably the one you are looking for married George Smith on 06/18/1874. I checked all the Martha's in the burial index but did not find any who were married to a George. She probably is not buried in Cass County unless there are no records of her burial. Hope that helps with some clarification.
Initially I got a error message but ignored it and was able to view my Gregg, Page and other relatives info. Thanks. Ray
I must be doing something wrong. I have clicked on the addresses below and always get a message that the page I want is not available. Is there another website address I can use. Went to the site last night found quite a few McAninch's an one who married into the Smiths but her name was Nancy an not Martha may be a new McAninch to watch for. thanks again. Linda
Brenda, Thanks so much for the work you've done. I really appreciate it. Now I can look for my Fishers and Shanks! I've spent most of the evening dividing up the E-F and S files on the master index to make them smaller files. Hopefully this will fix the problem of the files being kicked out. Let's hope this works. Brenda
Thank you for pointing out the errors. I stayed up until 5:30 this morning trying to get this up for everyone, so there are bound to be a few mistakes made through half open eyelids. As for the files, right now the website is running at full capacity, 25 mb, if not more. Some files may be kicked out because I may be over my allowed space. This problem should be taken care of once the host unlocks my file manager so that I can delete some old files to make room for the new. Hopefully, there won't be anymore problems after tomorrow night. Also, depending on traffic to the site, this may cause errors. I re-uploaded the files that you couldn't open so they are there now, but for how long, I don't know. As for the pop-ads, just think of them as the price you pay for getting something for free. I can't do anything about them, they're just part of the package.
