Pat: Marriage record dated 9 Dec. 1858of Cape Girardeau Co. shows her as Lucinda Fraller (This could well be an error in transcription.) Fraller is not a common name in Cape Girardeau Co. I'm sure it was a misspelling, but no idea what the name really is. The 1860 census shows: # 1761-1773 William Houck 25 Sophia 18 John F. 8/12 1870 census Willam Wellie (probably Welty) 33 b. Brunswick Sophia 27 (They were married 2 May 1865 under the names of William Villie and Sophia Hauk) Rachael C. .. 4 Mary H. 2 John D.(s/b F) Houk 11 William D. Houk 7 Sarah E 4. (could be Welty) and dau of a first marriage of William Welty. Census is not always clear. William Houk was a son of John and Susannah Miller Houck, both natives of Lincoln County, NC.
