The Red House Interpretive Center is across from Old St. Vincents Church, on the east side of Main St., between Meriweather and William streets, in downtown Cape Girardeau. This is east of the location of the original Red House (destroyed in the 1850 tornado), because the front part of the church sits on the site. The Red House was (arguably) the residence and trading post of Louis Lorimier, but was certainly owned by Lorimier.
