I have recently become aware of the wealth of data that I am losing because I have neglected my ancestors religious background and preferences. However, I am unaware of how to find the actual religions that they followed. Therefore, I am asking for guidance on how to determine what their religious leanings were. As an example - my two major family backgrounds arrived in your area circa 1838/39 from points east. Marriages and births might be easier to track if I knew the churches associated, to check out the places that they stopped and stayed while on their exodus. My ggg gf Nathan Collins and my gg gf (his son-in-law) John Dalton Hopper first appeared on the 1840 census for Cape Girardeau. They lived out the rest of their lives there, and are buried in the Collins - Hopper Cemetery. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fill in that gap in my geneaology records. . _____________________________________________________________ Switch to Netscape Internet Service.
