CLIPPARD Felix G. Clippard, 78 years old, former merchant and postmaster at Leopold, died of ureic poisoning late Friday afternoon at St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Clippard became ill last Thursday and was removed from his home and that of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Most of his adult life he spent in Leopold. Upon his retirement 19 years ago, he came to Cape Girardeau where his wife died 16 years ago. His children, who survive are Sister Mary Felix, a teacher of the Order of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, New Orleans, who has arrived; Mrs. A. W. In Leopold, Mr. Clippard was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and helped to build the new church there. When he moved to Cape Girardeau he transferred his membership to St. Mary's Catholic Church. Note: Attached photos were taken by me at St. John's Cemetery, Leopold, May 2003. Shown is a close-up of the stone, and then a photo further back to show the entire stone. The stone reads: Husband of Josephine E. Clippard, Felix G.
