Stearns, 57 years old was found dead at his home in Cape Girardeau Saturday. He was a farm worker and moved to Cape in 1935 from Chaffee. Mr. Stearns was born March 11, 1915 at Millersville and married the former Miss Laura Worley on April 8, 1953, in Cape Girardeau. She died in 1971. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James Bush of Fenton, a stepson, Robert Pender of Cape Girardeau, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Norvel Green and Mrs. Wm. J. Speer both of Cape, a brother, W. Otis Stearns of Bernie, a sister, Mrs. Celious Hartle of Bernie and two grandchildren. Services were hed Saturday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery at Cape Girardeau.
