Miss Maude was born in Millerville on Sunday, February 25, 1879, and with her parents removed to this city in 1889 for the purpose of attending our schools; but on account of ill health she was able to attend by little. She was taken suddenly ill on Monday and three days later became unconcious and remained so until her death 14 days later. Three brothers, a father and mother, and a host of friends are left to mourn her loss. Rev. Humphrey, her pastor, conducted the funeral services at her home; she was then followed to her last resting place in the Lorimier cemetery by a host of friends. ~ Reprinted from the Cape Girardeau Gazettte.
