The following sketch of Mr. Naeter appeared in the publication in which he was interested. He came to Cape Girardeau with his brothers George and Fred Naeter in the fall of 1904 and had an important part in the establishment and operation of this newspaper. (Cape Republican). Prior to coming to this city he had attended Chicago University and at the same time did newspaper work in Chicago. Previously he had graduated from the high schools in (? can't read). He was married December 28, 1915 in St. Louis to Miss Lucile Settle who had been a teacher in the Cape Girardeau public schools. A son was born nine months ago and with the others survives. Surnames: Hopkins Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2JB.2ACE/429 Message Board Post: The Marble Hill Press, Marble Hill, MO February 27, 1913 In remembrance of dear Sarah Hopkins, wife of Joel Hopkins. On February 10, 2 o'clock in the morning was a sad hour, when the death angel came and called our loving companion home. Sad indeed it is, when mother cannot answer to the call of her dear little children. After losing all hope of recovery through the aid of medicine, she put her whole trust in the Lord and said just a few days before her departure that she believed the dear Lord was going to send a blessing on her and let her live and be with her dear little children. Sarah was 42 years, 2 months and 16 days old. She professed faith in Christ and was united with the M. E. Church, South at old Ebenezer near Laflin, when she was about fifteen or sixteen years of age. After she was married and moved to Cape Girardeau County, she transferred her membership to Fairview, and in the little cemetery nearby we laid her body to await the resurrection morn. Her funeral was preached by Rev. M. M. Blaese, and Rev. B. You! nt in the presence of a large congregation. Sarah leaves a husband, eleven children, father, mother, two sisters and six brothers to mourn their loss. An infant child and two sisters had gone on before and were waiting to welcome her into the presence of God. While we realize the fact that she did not fear death or the judgment, it grieved us when she took us by the hand and said, "I can't stay with you. I have to take care of my little child", and had them all called to her bedside and with a loving smile, kissed them good bye.

Then to top things off, just try and cancell your membership with them, what a mess that was and I'm still not sure that it's done correctly. The census thing has cleared up somewhat but it's really hard even getting pages to open. I had my computer checked and was told no problem there. Most other sites work good for me so I have to believe it's not my computer. It's a shame they don't even respond to a problem and try to fix it. They have no trouble accepting your money and right on the ball when it's time to renew! Ancestry has so much information I hate to drop them, but if you can't get access it's not worth it.
