Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2JB.2ACE/513 Message Board Post: I am researching the LOGAN RUMFELT family. He married VIRGINIA CORDELIA BOLLINGER, they had three children, SALLY"LOVEY" RUMFELT,married JAMES E WILSON, THOMAS JEFFFERSON RUMFELT, married LOVINA GOODSON, and NANCY JOSEPHINE RUMFELT, married SILAS A SMITH. NANCY AND SILAS had four children, GROVER VEST SMITH, married LILLIAN WILLS, CONNIE AND RAY SMITH, I don't think either of those two ever married. The last child of GROVER and LILLIAN was JOSEPH FOUK SMITH. He married ANNICE OVERBECK (OBERBECK?), and had one daughter, PATRICIA A SMITH, she married PAUL MOWERY and had three children. I have a lot of info on most of the family, but I need more on JOSEPH AND ANNICE'S family. I would appreciate any help with this family. Is JOSEPH AND ANNICE deceased?, if so where are they buried?. I know some of the family is buried at Oak Ridge and Bonne Terre, Mo. Thank you for any help.

To read more about it go to: www.caligari-film.de/Webstie/Englisch/Info/Windstarke8.htm Wouldn't you love to see it? I've written to my PBS and to my local genealogical society. LaVerne

    3. I'll email you what I managed to translate in the 50s, the thing was already shattering then. Last time I saw it about 1997, it was almost unreadable it had gotten so dark and so many pieces missing. Your welcome to use it, possibly raise some interest with some one else. Still looking for 2/3 Burtcher women by several spellings somewhere in your area, 1803ish likely md to ? Haven't seen anyone with a missing grma have you? Right now I'm busy tearing down the play house on the Ramseys with Joe Luther. There is something really wrong there, ages just won't hold for me. Plus I really doubt that John jr that died in Scott Co was 112. think someone along the way has transposed his birth date. It's 1725 now, but looks much better at 1752. And I don't think Hannah was about 30 when she md Belemus Hayden and had kids until she was around 50, just not likely then or now. I know I promised you that Hayden material some years ago, but my husband has just been to ill for me to really work on it, my father in law died, my daughter had a stroke and then my mom died. So things don't slow down a lot around here. I'll get it there eventually tho. I'll try to get the letter off to you sometime today or nite. best, Maggi

    2. Margaret Mcclure
    3. Thank you Bill, I appreciate. I actually think most of the Dodge family is in Ste Genevieve. I have a letter (well almost a letter, it's more then tattered) written I believe it was 1845/6 that was sent to one of the Haydens (can't make out the name) that I believe is accusing my ggrand father of murdering a John Dodge. It well could have been the Apple Creek Diggings in IL altho the letter came to Cape G and then was apparently forwarded on to grpa in St Louis. This letter is written to Dear Friend and signed, Your Friend, lots of help. As it was with his belongings when he (grpa) was murdered in TX I presume it was ment for him, plus in 1847 he writes a letter in TX refuting it. (the murder) Seems the Dodge and Love families were looking for him, and it is thought that perhaps this might have caused his demise in 1864. So I'm trying to locate a John Dodge that perhaps was shot about 1845, trying to find more on the story. Appeciate your taking the time to look. Maggi

    1. Hinkles in Cape Co.
    2. BILL EDDLEMAN
    3. I'm often out in left field on these gatewayed messages, but if the query involved Hinkle, this is one of "my" families. The group in Cape Girardeau Co. came from Rowan Co., NC; then partly to Robertson Co., TN; and then to Cape Girardeau & Perry Co. Many of theme trace back to Peter Hinkle and Amelia (Clodfelter) Hinkle. Also, with regard to the "Shoults" Cemetery. It was deeded to the community of Apple Creek in the 1830s for use as a community cemetery. It is not a family cemetery, even though many of the Shoults family are buried there. The surrounding land was owned by a Shoults, thus it got the name at some time. Anyone living in the Apple Creek (Appleton) community could have been buried there in the 1800s. ----Bill Eddleman >This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > >Classification: Query > >Message Board URL: > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2JB.2ACE/511.1 > >Message Board Post: > >Cape Girardeau County marriage and census records are rich in HINKLE/HINKEL > genealgoy.
