    1. Flentge, Perry, Edwards
    2. Tracey Karcher
    3. Hi, I'm searching for my late husbands family and genealogy for our kids. James Robert Edwards b. 1945 Cape G, d. 1994 Hollywood, FL. He is buried in Cape, in the family plot. His parents were Robert Garner Edwards and Gracie Lorraine Flentge. I know nothing of the Edwards line. Gracie Lorraine Flentge was the daughter of Hazel Perry, father unknown. Her sibs were Dorothy Flentge Culbreath, and Howard Flentge. Hazel Perry Flentge owned a large Saddlebred breeding and training facility in Cape G County in the 30's and 40's. Hazel, her daughters and young James Robert moved to Florida in 1947 or 1948. Gracie was already divorced. I think I remember that the Perry's were from TX, and the Edwards' from Hopkinsville, KY, but I don't know for sure. Thanks for any assistance! Tracey Karcher

Also...William MORGAN, sheriff of Jackson Mo. 1857 was sibling as well. Found out that the Nancy MASTERS died about this time, and that Henry died a week before the settlement. Can anyone help me on these people? Would gladly share info and sources. Thank you, Kathy

    3. I am scanning my 57 year collection of files onto CDs for preservation and distribution. As I work with new files (since my books were published and files before that, many of which was not included in my books, I keep finding important notes that needs to be shared. Such is the case here. Email of Febraury 2001 from my good friends Ray and Agnes Yount of Maryland: "Lorena: On page 343 of German Speaking People West Of The Catawba River IN NC, you speculate that the BARRICKS in NC may have been related to the BERGS in Frederick Co., MD. I believe this to be correct. The Book, Volume III, "Monacacy and Cacoctin" by Calvin E Schildknecht gives the following account: "The emigrant was Johan Wilhelm Berg (Barrack) born in Nordhofen in Westerwald, Germany 1683 (son of Johan Peter) He married Johanata Maria Andreas. The dialect word for Berg in high German meaning hill or mountain is BARRACK, But Barrick has been used." "Then while searchng Frederick County Land records for my ZIMMERMAN connections, I just found the following: Liber. L. George Zimmerman recorded 8 Dec 1768, made 22 June, between HANDLE BARRICK (which seems to be the possible origin of the spelling of HUNTEEL BARKS, LSE's note) of Frederick County tract called Mill Plain. Signed: JOHAN NICHOL BARRICK. His wife, Judith, also signs, releasing her dower. (I believe this George Zimmerman is the brother of Anna Elizabeth Zimmerman who married Johannes Jundt, the NC immigrant. So it appears Handle is a contraction of Johan Nichol?" Ray Lorena's note: It would behoove BARKS descendants to follow up on this lead. Heaven only knows what I might find in my files after I have waded through the several different Baker family files, etc. I found this note in the Misc. "B" files while looking for Bakers that might have been lost in the shuffle! My good deed for the day! Lorena

I do not want payment, I just want it back with the family where it belongs!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/2JB.2ACE/512.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Your reasoning seems right - you need documented proof!!!! Locate the counties where Grandison Bussy and Henry H. Miller lived. See if there are any probate records or land records which would require surnames and given nanes (example: Miller, Henry and wife Lucy). Some records might lists dowries, guardianships, etc. This would be solid proof since death records were not kept and church records might not name survivors. Does this make sense?? Have I serached the Missouri Census Index for any of the names you quoted? If listed in the book one can go to the census film and get more information.
