    1. [MOBUCHAN] Re: Catlins in St. Joseph in 1869
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Catlin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/zJB.2ACE/1958.1 Message Board Post: They sure did not stay in St. Joseph very long. I find that family, along with brother Daniel, age 2, in Springport, NY in 1870. Williams occupation is farmer. There are 3 other young adults living with them, possible farmhands. The family is still there in 1880 and shows the father as a retired farmer with a servant living with them as well. Jefferson is in Michigan by 1920. I have never seen any directory info before the 1880's but there may be some. St. Joseph was a main artery to those traveling west. Or perhaps the Civil War brought him to the area. Sorry not much help. Chuck
