    1. [MOBUCHAN] Frequent marriage location?
    2. David Pinkerton
    3. My great-grandmother Zilpha PINKERTON married her second husband Alfred E. WHISENAND (supposedly) somewhere around the St. Joseph area sometime between 1930 and 1938. Alfred was a native of that area but Zilpha lived most of her life around the East Liverpool, Ohio area. I'm still not sure how she even met Alfred in the first place. They both eventually lived the remainder of their lives in East Liverpool, Ohio which is why it's so strange to me that Zilpha was in Missouri at all. I've written to both Andrew and Buchanan County Recorders offices as well as the Northwest Missouri Genealogical Society. No one can find any record of this marriage during that time period. I'm wondering if people frequently crossed state lines at that particular time because perhaps it was easier to get married in Iowa, etc.? I know this is the case in many states (several of my eastern Ohio ancestors were married in West Virginia). If anyone has any opinions on this I would certainly be interested to hear them. Thank You, David Pinkerton
