    3. I have been looking for my great great grandfather Richard L. South, or his family for some time now. He was born in KY and was married in 1835 to Sarah Cockrell. The general consensus has been that he died in the Civil War. But he also had a son, Richard L. South, who would have been old enough to go to war. I had heard that Sarah moved to MO after Richard died, but maybe it was the son that died. In 1870 Buchanan County, Mo, Bloomington Township, Dekalb P.O. there is a a Richard L. South born KY, age 68; Eliza born KY age 17, Sarah born KY age 15. The daughters are the right age. He also had a son, William, who would have been 23 in 1870 but I cannot find him anywhere either. I cannot find any Souths in 1880 census but the girls would have probably married. Does anyone have any information on this family? As old as Richard was in 1870 I suppose he died before 1880 and may be buried there. Also I would like to know more about the location of Bloomington Township and also Dekalb P.O. Would appreciate any help or feedback. Would like to make a trip to MO and would like to know the best place to go for the records I might need. Velma Atkinson
