I'm researching a Tilman Bohannan in Nodaway Co., Missouri. I found the following in the 1850 census for Greenwood Valley, El Dorado Co., California. "Family" 2 John Brown, 26, Tenn., miner Wm. Hawes, 26, England, miner Tilman Bohanan, 15, Tenn., miner Perdine Bohanan, 20, Tenn., miner Perlilla Bohanan, 21, Tenn., miner Thos. Bohanan, 18, Tenn., miner "Family" 3 Wm. G. Brown, 20, Tenn., miner Alexander J. Officer, 27, Tenn., miner Jas. R. Harper, 28, Ky., miner I'm sure that is your John Brown. Priscilla is back home in Nodaway Co. Tilman married Margaret J. Hughes in Nodaway Co., in 1884. She was my g-g-grandfather's sister. They are buried in Groves Cemetery, Hughes Twp., Nodaway Co. From their tombstones, she died in 1899 and he died in 1907. The name on his tombstone is spelled Bohannan, hers is spelled Bohannon. I can't find Tilman or my entire Hughes family in the 1860 census, though I have them in 1850 and 1870 and on. Tilman is listed as blind in 1870 and 1880. Curious if you have come across anything on any of them. I found the other Bohannans in 1860 as well as a whole slew of Browns in Nodaway Co.
