Does anyone recognize this family and know more about them? Walter Mitchell was a photographer who lived in early St. Joseph. His wife is said to have been a member of the St. Francis Street Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Walter S. Mitchell b.ca. 1815 KY married 1841 America Heath b.1826 VA. For a short time they lived in Cass Co TX when her father moved there, but they came back to MO and settled in the 3rd Ward of St Joseph in 1860. Later they are living in 2nd Ward. Children: Henry C Mitchell b.ca. 1843 MO Charles A Mitchell b.ca. 1845 TX John W Mitchell b.ca. 1848 TX Stella Mitchell b.ca. 1862 I have not been able to find any of their graves or what happened to the children listed. She is said to have died at Springfield, Greene Co. MO and Walter as a photographer is found living in 1880 alone as a widower in Springfield.
