Can anyone clarify for me where to obtain a marriage license for someone married in St. Joseph in 1895/1896 timeframe? I live in Florida and just visited St. Joseph where I was told that I had to write to Jefferson City for the marriage license. Now I'm back in Florida and the Department of Vital Statistics website, says I have to contact the county for the record. Can someone give me guidance on this? I'm looking for a marriage between Anna Elisabeth or Betty Luschei to Charles F. Lindstrom in 1895/1896 in St. Joseph. Charles was born in Sweden and Anna Betty was born in Germany/Prussia.
