Click on Buchanan Co. and it will take you to the Buchanan Co. genweb site. They have quite a few cemetery transcriptions online. Vol. 1 Buch. Co. tombstone project is 186 pages of names. Did a quick check with their search engine and only found 2 Reeves shown buried in Buch. Co. One of the 2 died in 1880, but, just says Reeves, daughter. My Buena Vista was quite a bit older. Her father was John Tobin and she born in Southern Buchanan County around 1850, married a Belcher and then Daniel Reeves. I can track her until 1880 and then with no census for 1890 I can never find her again. I suspect she is some little country cemetery with no listing. Mo. We had a Sollars family there. Harry and Ruth- He was probably born about 1900. He had a son Waymen and apparently Waymen had two boys, as the grandparents were raising these two boys as I was growing up in the 40's and 50's. There are many Sollars in the St. Joseph area now. You might try the phone book. I understand that several of these families claim they are not related to each other. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I too am looking for people in this line as my Husband's father was Victor Bernard Carroll. He grew up in Easton and lived and died in the Detroit area of Michigan. I have found the Andersons and the Evans in Missouri but not anything that I think are the families in other states. Do you have anything more on John H. Evans and catherine Brown? Or Franklins parents? We were in Easton and StJoseph two years ago but didn"t know enough about the family to know what to look for. Estes and Lettie Sherwood. Mary was born 7/5/1860 in Buchanan County and died 2/27/1929 in Clay County. She married Albert Green abt 1890. Had children Cora, Ida, Anna and Killien by Albert. My research shows Jess Belcher was by one Harrison Belcher. Can't find that she and Harrison were ever married. I have run across several Mary Elizabeth's in my research of the Estes line. But, I can tell you that if you can trace back the Estes far enough in Ray, Buchanan and Clay counties, you will find a common ancestor(s). I have much more on my Estes line if you would like to compare. Jeff Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Can someone tell me if 3012 Edmond Street, St. Joseph was a private home or a hospital in 1911. Thank you. Frances Sampey Deak _Francesdeak@aol.com_ (mailto:Francesdeak@aol.com)
Let me correct part of that: 3012 and 3014 Edmond were side-by-side separate houses on a double-width lot, with no homes yet built east of 3014. According to the 1911 Sanborn Insurance Map, there was no hospital but only homes and vacant lots in the block bordered by Edmond, 30th, Sylvanie, and 31st. The lots with homes on them were 3002 Edmond (at the corner), 3004, 3006, 3008, 3010, 3012 and 3014. 3010 and 3102 were side-by-side on what looks to be a double lot, and there was a 3012½ to the rear of 3012. East of 3014 the lots weren't yet developed. As late as the 1949 revision it still shows residences in that block, but more comletely developed. From the aerial photomap at http://301url.com/3012Edmond - or http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=3012+edmond,+saint+joseph,+mo&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=32.610437,59.0625&ie=UTF8&ll=39.76555,-94.819661&spn=0.00193,0.003605&t=h&z=18&om=1 - it looks like it hasn't changed much even now. After FH Sollars died, she remarried Rufus Gideon Wright. In all, she had 11 children, 7 by Sollars and 4 by wright. She married Sollars possibly in KS, but my family has her in Missouri for a season where, in Buchanan County near St Joseph, she gave birth to her youngest child Molly Wright on August 22, 1885 (my ggrandmother). I am trying to continue the family tree up. Everything I have stops with her. I have no idea if or who her siblings would be, but am interested in them too. I have a family bible that lists the names/DOB's of 4 of the Sollars children, and the 4 Wright children, but no other info is listed. Any links to her would be appreciated!
