Would like information on the St Joseph Tornverein . I have a cane presented to my G Grandfather by this society in 1908. Recall my grandparents talking about it as a Swiss organization. Believe seeing some organized atletics at the Swiss Picnic at the old Swiss Lodge, perhaps by this organization. Any infor helpful. Thanks! Franz Meier

The land that was used for the cemetery is now being used for fill dirt. Not all of the burials were removed, because there were several instances of human bones being found on that land in the 1980's and 1990's. Most of the burials were moved to Mount Olivet, some were moved to other cemeteries. Volunteers have been doing a census of markers at Mt. Mora to try to rebuild the information base on some of the older burials at Mt. Mora. I do not know if there was an earlier loss of information on burials at Mt. Olivet. The Northwest Missouri Genealogical Society in St. Joseph may have some information on burials in Calvary or burials moved from Calvary to Mt. Olivet. Their website is at http://www.rootsweb.com/~monwmgs/index.htm . You may see if such information exists using the contact information on that webpage.

I swear that you will be related to everyone in there if you can find the connection. Nancy is from Henry Dittemore and Elizabeth Yeakley Nancy Ann Dittemore August 16, 1839 in Owen Co.,Indiana November 22, 1919 Buchanan Co., MO Wiley Huddleston Chapman May 28, 1829 Kentucky November 2, 1911 Buchan Co., MO They too are buried at Bethel Cemetery. Now for the best part. If you are related to either of these couples, you are both a Yeakley and a Dittemore. Mary Berger, daughter of Michael Berger married first Samuel Yeakley. Then to Adam Dittemore. You come from Samuel and the father of Adam, John Dittemore. You are your own cousin!! lol Me too. I would love to work on the two trees if you are willing. There is a third family named Cotter in there that intermarried with the Yeakley and Dittemores just as much. The gene pool must have been small in that area because this happened over and over.
