I'm sure finding the 1940 obit will be no prob. I'll check the city directories to see when Joseph's name ceases to appear. That could give a clue to a death date. I'll let you know what I find out.

I thank you for your offer to look up my obit anyway. The one I would like is for John Rynazewski, who died 17 April 1940. I am really looking for information on his father, Joseph Rynazewski; I know Joseph was listed on the 1920 census as 84 and living with another son, Frank, but I don't know when he died. I believe Joseph was my great-grandfather's uncle, but I haven't been able to gather any proof. The name isn't very common and I haven't run across anyone else researching it...the few living Rynazewskis I've come across aren't the least bit interested in talking to me. Thank you again so much for your help. Doni Fry

As the story goes he met my grandmother at a game. He was discharged from the Navy in April of 1919 and they married in Feb of 1921 so I figure some where in that time frame. Just wondered if there was any photos or any mention of his name. Harry Nelson

Someone was kind enough to send me this obituary already, but I'll be happy to lookup an obituary for you in Omaha. Let me know the details. You can send to my email or on this board. The Omaha World-Herald goes back to around 1888, but it's not very good with obits that far back. After 1900, it's alot better.

St Joseph, MO, had two newspapers at that time and I have access to one of them here. I will be going to St Joseph in the next few days, and can search the other paper then. If I am successful, I will gratefully take you up on your offer to look up an obit in the Omaha paper for me.
This was on the Butler Co, AL list and I wanted to foward this on to all researchers- To all genealogists: TOO many times we are forced to buy documents that are a matter of public record on file in public offices across the the nation. These documents -- wills, probate records, deeds of every type, birth, marriage and death records -- were placed on file as a matter of record only after a fee was paid to place them there so they would become public records. As a genealogist living in Texas, I cannot afford to travel to states like Georgia, South and North Carolina to publicly view records that could offer information about my family ancestors. I cannot afford to pay a professional researchers to it for me. I must rely on people who, like myself, are willing to share what resources we have -- people who have been to those far away places. If we don't take a stand for our heritage soon it will be gone and beyond our reach. PLEASE take time to read the petition at the address listed below. If you agreed that public records should remain FREE, please sign the petition and pass this link on to every genealogist you know. http://www.petitiononline.com/ethan/petition.html I was the 4768th signer. There are millions of other researchers we need to reach. If you don't care to sign, please pass this on so that some one else may have the opportunity. To Al Noblin, thanks for sending me this message. I was not aware of this situation. Mildred Stinson Brown Palestine, TX Our Southern Heritage 33rd Ala Volunteers

Be sure to explain carefully in your letter to the court your relationship and why you want the information.

I also have some Slibowskis in my family tree...my great-grandfather's younger sister Josephine (Josie) married John Slibowski (I don't have my records with me at the moment, so I can't be more specific). I also have hand-copied marriage, birth, and burial records from several of the old Catholic churches favored by the Polish immigrants, and I know Slibowski and Bashinski pop up frequently. I would love to share information if we have some crossover; I would also love to find a picture of Josie Slibowski. I will look forward to hearing from you. Doni
