However, an earlier Spring Garden School was at 4405 S. 22nd Street. This was a first through eighth grade elementary school. The 4405 S. 22nd Street location is currently South Park Christian School. In the early 1950s, Spring Garden School was outside the St. Joseph city limits, more like a country school. The new Middle School was built in the late 1970s-early 1980s. By the time it was built, that whole area was inside the city limits. I had friends who attended Spring Garden School. They lived on a farm, right across the highway from where the new Spring Garden is today. They had a mile to walk each way to and from school. I hope this helps. Dave

Searching for info on family of Bartholomew and Elizabeth O'Driscoll, who were married in 1844 in KY and moved to St. Joseph, MO, where they are found on the 1850 census. They had two sons there, and then moved across the river to Atchison, Kansas around 1855. Bartholomew, or "Barney" is listed as B. O'Driscoll on the census.
