Funeral services will be held Friday, June 26 at 3 p.m. at the Pentecostal Church in Lutesville, conducted by Rev. Verdell Jackson assisted by Rev. Thomas M. Jackson. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery with Baker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The body will remain at the funeral home until time for services. Mr. Stowers ws born January 6, 1880 at Georgetown, Illinois, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Moses Stowers. On February 20, 1904 he was united in marriage to Ida Stroud, who survives. The family moved to Lutesville in 1965 when Mr. Stowers retired as maintenance man at the City Hospital in St. Louis. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James E. Stowers of Des Moines, Iowa and Leo Stowers of St. Louis; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Crenshaw and Mrs. Virginia Harris of St. Louis; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Chester Stowers of Dexter. Four children preceded him in death.
