Missourian, Cape Girardeau, MO Sept. 2000 CARL BARRETT SR. Marble Hill, Mo. -- Carl R. Barrett Sr., 80, died Saturday Sept. 30, 2000, at Eldercare of Marble Hill. He was born Jan. 28, 1920, at Gilman, Ill., son of Albert Marion and Argle Mae Huskey Barrett. He and Cecelia Josephine Stockman were married July 14, 1950 at Jackson, Mo. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, having earned a Purple Heart and three bronze stars. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and VFW both in Marble Hill. He had worked as a farm equipment repairman. He had lived in Marble Hill for 55 years and was a member of County Line Baptist Church in Marble Hill. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Carl Barrett Jr. of Marble Hill and Charles Mayrand of Hannibal, Mo., three brothers, Albert R. Barrett of Broxton, Georgia, Elmer and Warren Barrett, both of Mount View, Calif.; a grandchild and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Charles Mayrand and Elijah Allen officiating. Burial will be in Lessley Ridge Cemetery near Marble Hill.
