May 7, 1959 JAMES A. BAKER James A. Baker, 71, years old of Fornfelt passed away late Tuesday afternoon at the Osteopathic Hospital in Cape Girardeau, where he had been admitted Monday night. Mr. Baker had been in ill health for the past few years. The body is at the Baker Funeral Home (now Hutchings Funeral Chapel) in Lutesville (now incorporated with Marble Hill) where services will be held Friday at 11:00 conducted by Rev. H. H. Murdick, pastor of the Methodist Church of Whitwater. Burial will be in the Baker Cemetery. Mr. Baker was married to Elisabeth Huff at Charleston and the family had resided there, in Divernon and Chicago, Illinois, and for the past few years in Fornfelt. He had also lived near Greenbrier. Surviving are his wife; five sons, Claude, Hall, and Leo Baker of Chicago; Marshal Baker of St. Louis and Garrett Baker, in the merchant marines, stationed in San Francisco, California; three sisters: Mrs. Nora Bumgardner of San Diego,California, Mrs. L. R. Baker of Sikeston, and Mrs. T. P. Estes of Lutesville; two brothers, A. J. Baker of Lutesville and Rev. C. R. Baker of near Patton; also several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard T. Baker of Charleston, two sisters and two brothers.
