Missourian, Cape Girardeau, MO Jan. 1999 THELMA LEE POMEROY Marble Hill -- Thelma Lee Pomeroy, 89, of Marble Hill died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at the home of her daughter in Marble Hill. She was born Sept. 12, 1909, in St. Paul, Va., the daughter of Herman and Willie Kympton. She married Edwin Pomeroy, who preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1990. She and her husband moved to Bollinger County from St. Louis in 1935 when they purchased the old Lutes farm on Crooked Creek, two miles from Marble Hill. She was secretary to the superintendent at Woodland School for 13 years. She was a former member of the Lutesville United Methodist Church where she was treasurer, Sunday school teacher, youth leader and choir director. She more recently was a member of the Marble Hill United Methodist Church. She is survived by four children, Ed Pomeroy of Florissant, Lee Stewart of Marble Hill, Phoebe Pomeroy oof Rome, Ga., and Wilford Pomeroy of Albany, OR. She is also survived by two sisters, Billie Hensely of Cape Girardeau and Syrama Brown of Healdsburg, Calif.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, two sisters and one brother. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be held at the Marble Hill Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Burial will be at the Pomeroy Family plot at the Baker Cemetery.
